- Assistant Professor in Politics and International Studies (East Asia), University of Warwick
Chi Zhang is an Assistant Professor in Politics and International Studies at University of Warwick. Her research examines how security-centred and digitally mediated forms of governance reshape state–society relations under conditions of uncertainty. Focusing on contemporary China as a strategic site, she works at the intersection of security studies, political sociology, and digital governance, with particular attention to everyday experiences of governance, legitimacy, and political participation. Her work has been published in journals including International Feminist Journal of Politics and Journal of Contemporary China. She is the author of a monograph on terrorism and security governance in China and is currently developing research on digital governance and risk management in the post-growth era.
