I am a social psychologist studying topics related to The Self and Close Relationships. The goal of my research is to enhance understanding of how individuals form and maintain relationships. My primary interest is nostalgia as a means through which individuals maintain social connection. A secondary interest is balance theory and attitude alignment, the tendency of individuals to shift their attitudes to more closely match the attitudes of a partner. I also apply my interests by collaborating on research that intersects the disciplines of social psychology and positive psychology (e.g., forgiveness, humility) to maintain relationships.
