- Lecturer, Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge
I am an assistant professor of virus genomics at the University of Cambridge. I've spent my academic career studying how viruses transmit, cause disease and change over time. I have tracked transmission chains around hospitals, monitored antiviral drug resistance evolving in individual patients, and interrogated the history of common childhood viruses going back tens of thousands of years. I am also a parent and get to experience infectious disease transmission first-hand.
