Dr. Charlie Lawrie is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sussex. His PhD research examined the links between fossil fuel dependency and infrastructure breakdown in contemporary Lebanon. His current research interests include the political economy of climate finance, international illicit financial flows and the global sanctions regime. He holds an MA in International Relations and Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Cambridge. Charlie has published in New Political Economy, Energy Research and Social Science and the Handbook of Progressive Politics.
