Ceren Ayyildiz is a PhD Candidate at the University of Sydney’s Sydney Conservatorium of Music, working within the Sydney Music, Mind & Body Lab. Her research investigates how musical features, such as rhythm and instrumentation, influence music-evoked mental imagery, and how such experiences differ across individuals and stages of life.

In addition to her doctoral work, she co-secured and contributes to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural research, including a DAAD–Universities Australia funded project investigating the use of music to reduce loneliness in older adults.

Ceren holds a BA in Music from Durham University, and an MSc in Music, Mind and Brain from Goldsmiths, University of London.
