Dr. Cem Soner, CFA, is a financial economist whose research explores how political shocks and uncertainty shape financial markets, credit access, and regional inequality. His work has been published in the Journal of Rural Studies and supported by funders including the British Academy/Leverhulme Trust and the Welsh Government.
He has presented at leading international conferences and is an active mentor with the Graduate Applications in Economics Network, supporting African students in securing fully funded PhD placements in North America.
Dr. Soner previously worked as a consultant in international development and holds degrees from Bilkent University, SDA Bocconi, and Bangor University, where he completed his PhD in Finance. He is a CFA Charterholder.
