Cathy Mason

Cathy Mason is an Associate Professor in Philosophy at the Central European University (Vienna). She is currently working on a book on Iris Murdoch's 'metaethics' (forthcoming with OUP), as well as some ideas concerning the ethics of friendship.

Before coming here, she held a Leverhulme postdoc at the University of Cambridge and taught at the Universities of Oxford (Wadham College) and Birmingham. In 2019 she completed her PhD ('Neglected Virtues: Love, Hope and Humility') in Philosophy at Trinity College, Cambridge. Before that she did a Masters at the University of Sheffield, and read Philosophy and Theology at Trinity College, Oxford.
