Professor Catherine McMahon is the Academic Director of the Australian Hearing Hub and inaugural Director of the HEAR Centre, a WHO Collaborating Centre. Her research uses a systems-thinking approach and centers on understanding barriers and facilitators to access hearing healthcare for priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and LMICs. She uses innovative workforce and service delivery model approaches to identify how to strengthen care pathways. Professor McMahon worked closely with the World Health Organization to develop and collate the evidence-base for the World Report on Hearing and is a Commissioner on the Lancet Commission of Hearing Loss.
