Cary is a PhD student at the University of Waterloo. Cary's research interests are primarily focused on elite sport influences on amateur sport participation. His research explores the role and capacity of national team performances in triggering broader sport and physical activity engagement within East Asian contexts. Cary is also interested in understanding how unique philosophies specific to East Asian regions can shape how individuals construct meaning of elite and grassroots sport.
