Dr Carrie Thomson-Casey is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with 25 years in mental health. She is dedicated to exploring the crucial intersection of psychology, professional practice, and responding to client preferences. Her research also explores integrative mental health interventions, including the role of therapeutic relationships, evidence-based complementary medicines for mental health, nutrition, sleep, mindfulness and movement. With extensive experience across diverse mental health sectors (sexual assault, violence prevention, disability, vocational rehabilitation, rural practice). Carrie is also a lecturer and researcher across topics in counselling, mental health and integrative medicine. Her research and publications have influenced discussions on ethics, policy, and best practice in psychology, integrative, lifestyle, and naturopathic medicine.
Research
Psychologist engagement with complementary and integrative mental health interventions, use of reflection and mindfulness to improve wellbeing/resilience, health and wellbeing of health professionals, use of AI to enhance counselling and supervision, and interprofessional collaboration.
Previous publications have been cited in internationally including ethics, policy and best practice in rural, counselling and health topics.
