I am a retired senior lecturer in speech & language sciences and currently a visiting fellow at Newcastle University, UK. I also trained as a speech & language therapist. My research and teaching has been around monolingual- and bilingual language development and developmental language disorder (DLD_. Earlier in my career I worked on the 'New Reynell Developmental Language Scales', a language assessment tool published in 2011, and have published in the area of assessment of bilingual children and those with languages other than English.
Since retirement I have had continued involvement with the 'Language Intervention in the Early Years (LIVELY)' project at Newcastle University: https://research.ncl.ac.uk/lively/, and have published an introductory text book on child language acquisition: https://www.routledge.com/An-Introduction-to-Child-Language/Letts/p/book/9781032377889 . I am currently working on a book on DLD.
