My research focuses on women who lived from 1680-1720 and published about war, politics, foreign affairs, and other topics traditionally addressed by men. They all influenced national events, yet few are known today. This work has been heavily influenced by research from my colleagues in Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. My job at Georgetown is guiding faculty in all departments and programs to scholarly publishing at the highest level. I also write about faith-based peace activists working toward nuclear disarmament.

I am the author of three books and the editor of three more. With Fr. Drew Christiansen, SJ (former editor-in-chief of the Jesuits' America magazine), I had the privilege of co-editing two books on nuclear disarmament with the Vatican for Georgetown University Press. The first one took second place for theology/ethics from the Catholic Media Association. http://press.georgetown.edu/book/georgetown/world-free-nuclear-weapons In February 2022 I published a book titled "Transform Now Plowshares: Megan Rice, Gregory Boertje-Obed, and Michael Walli, for Liturgical Press (https://litpress.org/Products/3722/Transform-Now-Plowshares). I spent three years developing a book with Sr. Jeanne Clark OP, "All the Way In: A Story of Activism, Incarceration, and Organic Farming" for Robert Ellsberg at Orbis (https://orbisbooks.com/products/all-the-way-in-a-story-of-activism-incarceration-and-organic-farming). I am currently writing a biography of Ardeth Platte OP, the original for the nun on Orange is the New Black. My first two books were with Farrar, Straus & Giroux, including Traditional Degrees for Nontraditional Students: How to Earn a Top Diploma From America's Great Colleges at Any Age, and I have been on NPR, the BBC, in The New York Times, Time, Newsweek, on CNN, 60 Minutes, and in many other national publications.
