Carly Daniel-Hughes earned her doctorate in 2007 from Harvard University in Early Christian Studies. Her publications include The Salvation of the Flesh in Tertullian of Carthage: Dressing for the Resurrection (Palgrave Macmillan 2011) as well as The Bloomsbury Reader in Religion, Sexuality, and Gender (with Donald Boisvert, Bloomsbury, 2016). Her research examines the history of gender and sexuality in Christianity, with a focus on their relevance for contemporary life. She has written extensively on sex-work in antiquity, and is currently conducting research on Christian anti-trafficking organizations as well as Christian views of reproductive health in the context of the abortion debates in North America.
