In my research I seek to understand the interplay between children's social and cognitive development. My main research interests deal, for example, with how and when children acquire and at the same time become vulnerable to the negative effects of societal stereotypes attached to their social groups, such as gender stereotypes or stereotypes about obesity. Relatedly, I am also interested in how affective factors, such as maths anxiety, and number-related practice in the family environment influence the acquisition of mathematical skills and the development of positive attitudes toward maths from the earliest school years.
