After completing my PhD in 2005, I worked as a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the ANU (2006) and the University of Bern, Switzerland (2006-2008), before accepting a tenured academic position in Earth Sciences at James Cook University, Townsville. After 11 years at James Cook University, I moved to the University of Adelaide in May 2020, to take a position as Associate Professor.

I am a geologist with expertise in petrology/mineralogy/geochemistry. I work on large-scale geological/tectonic processes that have been responsible for the evolution of Earth over geological time. My research examines processes of continental crustal growth and recycling, as well as processes that lead to formation of metalliferous ore bodies in the crust. My current research is on formation of orebodies of critical Minerals such as rare earth elements, cobalt, tin, tungsten, and lithium.
