- Associate Director of the Center for Translational Neuromechanics in Rehabilitation, Clinical Scientist, Penn State
I am a neuroscientist at Penn State College of Medicine studying motor recovery after neurological injury, including stroke and multiple sclerosis. My work focuses on designing and leading clinical trials that improve functional arm and hand use in people living with chronic neurological impairment.
I am the first author of a randomized clinical trial published in JAMA Neurology demonstrating that training the less-impaired arm after stroke can significantly improve everyday motor performance. My research bridges mechanistic motor neuroscience with real-world clinical rehabilitation.
