- PhD Candidate in Politics, University of Manchester
Bulbul’s research explores feminist, Indigenous, and decolonial approaches to everyday resistance in conflict-affected regions of South Asia. She focuses on how Gond Adivasi women in India navigate and challenge systemic violence, including state militarisation, mining-driven dispossession, and caste and gender hierarchies, through ordinary practices of care, solidarity, and economic sustenance. Using Photovoice as a participatory method, her work develops a feminist-decolonial lexicon of everyday and ordinary resistance that emerges from women’s own narratives and images, capturing affective dimensions such as grief, silence, endurance, and attachment. Her research contributes to debates on feminist peace, decolonial epistemology, care aesthetics, and the politics of representation in research with Indigenous communities.
