Brooklyn Walker is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her research lies at the intersection of the fields of religion and politics and political behavior.
Using experiments and survey analyses, her work examines the politicization of religious identities and worldviews in the United States, with particular attention to Christian nationalism, religious gender worldviews, and religious pluralism. Her work investigates who holds Christian nationalist commitments and why — including how Christian nationalism operates across racial groups, interacts with gender ideologies such as complementarianism, and shapes attitudes toward democratic participation and religious diversity.
Her research has been published in Political Behavior, Public Opinion Quarterly, Perspectives on Politics, and Politics and Religion, among other journals. Walker is a 2004 Truman Scholar and has received research support from the Louisville Institute and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.
