Brock Bersaglio is a political ecologist who researches interactions between human and nonhuman life in the context of conservation and development, focusing on Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia. He is also involved in research on global development agendas, policies, and processes.
Recurring themes in his work on conservation and development include agency, structure, and power; belonging, citizenship, and identity; colonialism, imperialism, and justice and land, labour, and livelihoods.
Brock also partners with civil society organisations engaged in activism, policy advocacy, and other emancipatory agendas in the places he works, co-producing research that contributes to their activities.
