Brigid O'Connell

Brigid is undertaking a PhD at Deakin University in the field of local media. She has worked as a sessional tutor at Deakin in journalism studies since 2016 and has worked as a research assistant on a project exploring 'news deserts'. Additionally, she is the marking tutor for Country Press Association’s Community Journalism Program, a three-year online cadetship program for regional and rural newspaper journalists. Previously, Brigid was a health journalist at a daily metropolitan newspaper for 14 years.
