Dr. Brian McQuinn is an Associate Professor at the University of Regina and co-author of the report Enemy of Enemy, which examined Russian efforts to weaponize both far-left and far-right movements in Canada. He is a co-founder of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Data, and Conflict. Dr. McQuinn has more than two decades of experience as a researcher and humanitarian practitioner, with fieldwork spanning over 20 conflict-affected countries. He received his doctorate from the University of Oxford after completing ethnographic fieldwork with insurgents during the 2011 Libyan uprising. His research has been published by Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press, as well as in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Biological Conservation. His work has been cited or featured by The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, CBC, The Guardian, Financial Times, and Nature.
