- PhD Candidate in Language & Literacy Education, The University of Melbourne
I'm an education and development specialist with nine years of experience working as a teacher, researcher and consultant. I'm currently a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne’s Graduate School of Education. I'm exploring the literacy practices of out-of-school children in Ghana, using participatory visual research to follow ten children as they transition through a Complementary Basic Education program into formal schooling. Formally, I was an Education Officer with UNICEF Ghana, Director of Venture Support for StartSomeGood and Senior Researcher & Project Manager at Macquarie University. I've also been a consultant for Plan International, Victorian Curriculum & Assessment Authority and UNICEF on a range of education projects from digital language assessment to the Global Initiative on Out-of-School Children. I run, drink tea and search for NFL jerseys when travelling.
