Boris Kosoy

I have been directly involved in many of the recent developments in heat pipe technology applications. Together with my colleagues I have shown in more than 150 publications heat transfer and thermodynamics issues of passive thermal control solutions. Thermal and two-phase fluid flow in micro-systems is a subject of special consideration of research team under my leadership. Also, thermodynamic analysis and optimization of renewable energy systems, thermal behavior of nanofluids and simulations of micro-fluid flow are in the scope of my current research interests. Thus, from year 2007 to 2010 I was a co-director of the Project “Development of Energy Efficient Heat Exchangers for Refrigeration & Air-conditioning Industries”, Indo-Ukrainian Inter-governmental Science & Technology Cooperation Program. As a result, we tested and proved innovative techniques of heat transfer enhancement for evaporators and condensers, attained original information on nanofluids heat transfer at pool boiling.
My synergistic activities comprise editorial positions at professional journals (Associate Editor, International Journal of Energy & Technology (2009-present); Editorial Board Member, International Review of Chemical Engineering (2009-present); committee service for professional organizations: member of the Scientific Council of the International Center of Heat and Mass Transfer (2005-present); co-director of the NATO ASI on Microsystems for Security - Fundamentals and Applications, August 23-September 4, 2009, Cesme-Izmir, Turkey; eviewing for the European Science Foundation Standing Committee for Physical and Engineering Sciences, European Space Agency, Irish Research Council, Slovenian Research Agency, etc.
