Dr Bonny Cassidy lives on Dja Dja Wurrung land, in a native forest in Central Victoria. She has been a teaching and research academic in Australian universities for fifteen years, including a decade as Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at RMIT. She is the author of three poetry collections, including Chatelaine (Giramondo Publishing, 2017) which was shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards, and one book of nonfiction, Monument (Giramondo, 2024). Bonny also co-edited the anthology Contemporary Australian Feminist Poetry (Hunter Publishers, 2016), and her essays and articles on Australian literature and culture have been widely published. Bonny is now an independent scholar of creative practice and psychology, and a facilitator of public writing workshops.
