Bob Batchelor

Bob Batchelor is an Assistant Professor of Communication, Media, & Culture at Coastal Carolina University and a cultural historian specializing in American popular culture, biography, and twentieth-century literature. He is a three-time winner of the IPA Books award.

Bob holds a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of South Florida and has authored or edited more than 35 books including "Stan Lee: A Life"; "The Bourbon King: The Life and Crimes of George Remus"; "Roadhouse Blues: Morrison, the Doors, and the Death Days of the Sixties"; and "The Gatsby Code: A Century of Dreams and Disillusion." His work has appeared in Time, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, PopMatters, and other national publications. He has served as an on-air commentator for PBS NewsHour, NPR, BBC, Wondery, and The National Geographic Channel.
