Birri O’Dea is a Gungalu and Birri-Gubba (Wiri) woman with a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Her professional background spans research, policy, and program work across business, health, education, and publishing sectors. Birri brings a relational and culturally grounded approach to work that focusses on increasing organisational cultural competency, First Nations employment and engagement, and Indigenous data governance and sovereignty. Her recent works with the University of Queensland Indigenous Business Hub included a scoping report on the Australian bush foods and botanical sector, and an examination of the enablers and barriers for Indigenous social enterprises in Queensland. Birri is currently the First Nations Program Manager and Flow-MER Knowledge Exchange Lead with the One Basin Cooperative Research Centre.
