I taught at Mekelle University for nine years and have written extensively on the intersection of sexual violence, reproductive violence, and starvation. I am the co-author of Tearing the Body, Breaking the Spirit and have coordinated several research and advocacy projects, including the Famine Voices series at the World Peace Foundation. My work is deeply informed by my firsthand experience of the Tigray war. I recently earned my Master’s in Human Security and Humanitarian Affairs from Tufts University, where I was recognized with the Sabina Robillard Prize and inducted as a Civicus Honos.
