Bilge Serin

Bilge Serin works as a Lecturer in Global Urbanism and the Chair of Just City by the Med Research Network. She is an urban researcher with a diverse background, including urban design, urban development, urban politics and architecture. She worked at the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University and Middle East Technical University, as well as the Chamber of City Planners in Turkey, before joining the University of Glasgow, and have held visiting positions at the University of Antwerp and the University of Barcelona.

Her research interests cluster around dynamics behind inequality in urban space, including exclusionary practices in urban development, housing, discursive formation of exclusion in urban space, imagining urban futures, and the dynamics of contemporary commodification of urban space.
