Bibi Burger is a lecturer at the School of Languages and Literatures at the University of Cape Town, where she teaches modules on Afrikaans poetry and Afrikaans language acquisition. Her research largely focuses on the representation of urban and rural spaces in South African literature, and how this is impacted by (and impacts on) gender, race, class and relationships between the human and non-human.
