Bethany Robertson

(She/her)

Dr Bethany Robertson is a rural sociologist with expertise in how identities and inequalities shape farm work, food production and rural communities. Her research focuses on gender in agriculture, as well as the social impacts of agricultural policy.

She has been involved in research funded by the ESRC exploring labour shortages and food security through the experiences of farmers and seasonal migrant farm workers post-Brexit. Previously she completed a PhD on the experiences of women farmers in England and worked on a British Academy funded project which examined the ways farmers engage with social media and how narratives of farming are communicated online.
