I am Director of Policy at the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre, an AHRC-funded research centre co-hosted by Newcastle University and the Royal Society of the Arts. Prior to this I was Head of Research and Practice at the UK's Design Council, where I led the organisation's research on the value of design to the UK, and the role it can play in addressing climate and biodiversity loss. I have written extensively on creative industries policy issues on topics spanning local economic growth, skills, AI, and creative technology. Alongside my work at the Creative PEC, I am a Policy Fellow at the University of Cambridge, and a Trustee of Engage, a national charity promoting participation and engagement in the visual arts.
