I am a Professor in Social Science and Health at King's College London, co-leading a programme on work, welfare reform and mental health (https://www.kcl.ac.uk/csmh/research-programmes/work-and-welfare-reform). I am also leading a new five-country comparison of how it feels to claim benefits in different countries.

I've done lots of work on benefits and health/disability, including spending bits of 2015/16 on secondment in the DWP itself, and since then talking to people like the Work and Pensions Select Committee, OBR, Health Foundation, and Commission on Social Security led by Experts by Experience. For the first part of my career I was just called 'Ben Baumberg' - the 'Geiger' was added in March 2016. I blog at https://inequalities.substack.com/
