A national study shows 32% of Year 12 students reported ‘high psychological distress’ in the four weeks before the survey was taken.
The study is the first of its kind to gauge how people were impacted by the bushfire crisis and how it changed their views on a range of subjects, from climate change to the government response.
Research has found one-quarter of children in NSW delayed school entry in 2009 and 2012, with the tendency to delay varying according to where families live and their socio-economic status.
