Belén López-Pérez is a lecturer in psychology at the University of Manchester.

Her research examines interpersonal emotion regulation, including how people influence and support one another’s emotional experiences in everyday life.

Drawing on social, developmental and applied psychology, she is also exploring the role of digital tools and artificial intelligence in emotional support.

She holds a PhD in empathy and prosocial behaviour from the Autonomous University of Madrid.
