Bálint Üveges

I am a biologist interested in especial the evolutionary ecology of poisonous and venomous animals and their toxins. During my PhD I studied the phenotypic plasticity of amphibian chemical defences. From 2021 to 2024 I was a postdoctorate researcher at Bangor University, Wales, where I investigated the evolutionary ecology of meadow viper (Vipera ursinii and co.) venoms. Since 2026, I am a reasearch fellow at the Evolutionary Ecology Research Group, Institute for Ecology and Botany, HUN-REN Centre for Ecological Research in Budapest Hungary. Here, I have multiple projects studying the transcriptomic and genetic background of poison and venom systems as well as population genomics.
