- Lecturer in Social Psychology, University of Birmingham
I'm currently an Assistant Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Birmingham, where I research and teach how social psychology can be applied to understanding public health issues.
I completed my PhD in social/health psychology at Deakin University, using social identity theory to understand eating behaviour. I moved on to Monash University as a research associate and Assistant Lecturer at Monash University, investigating social and cognitive factors in public health issues.
I'm passionate about understanding social psychology and how this understanding can lead to improvements in people's lives. As the COVID-19 pandemic has shown, many of the issues we see in life are directly associated with social ills, and by combatting the social ills, we can make a difference far more than just focusing on individuals.
