Avelina Tarrago is a Wangkamahdla woman from central-west Queensland, who practices as a Barrister-at-Law in Brisbane. Avelina has practiced law in Queensland since her admission to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2009.

Avelina has served on the board of the Mulligan River Registered Native Title Body Corporate since 2021, following the Federal Court granting native title recognition for the Wangkamahdla people.
