Arthur Khomotso Mahuma

Arthur Khomotso Mahuma is an economist and researcher at CCRED. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in economics from the University of Pretoria. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in trade and development from the University of Johannesburg and a Master of Commerce in development economics (Minor dissertation passed with distinction) from the same institution.

Prior to joining CCRED, Arthur was a senior economist at the Competition Commission of South Africa where he undertook investigations and economic analysis in mergers, abuse of dominance and cartel cases. He has extensive experience in competition economics across a range of sectors, including telecommunications, food and agro-processing, energy, and digital platforms. Arthur was part of the Data Services Market Inquiry’s technical team. He has conducted impact assessments and market studies, and provided economic input into cases presented at the Competition Tribunal of South Africa.
