Ariaan is a senior lecturer in the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at Monash University.

Her research investigates coupled ocean-atmosphere-sea ice interactions across the Southern Hemisphere, with a particular focus on Antarctic and Southern Ocean climate variability and change. Her recent work examines drivers of the current low sea ice around Antarctica and examining the sensitivity of climate responses to different Antarctic meltwater projections.
