Antonella Locascio is graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Padova (Italy) in 2004, and obtained her PhD in Biotechnology, from the same University, on 2009.Her research activity ranged various aspects of life science, reaching Plant, Human, Yeast and Fungi domains.
The metric impact of her contributions, comprises original articles and reviews all included in the top 25% of most cited documents worldwide and top 25% journals by CiteScore Percentile. Her scientific skills include production and analysis of the transcriptional regulatory data, as supported by her last publications (DOI: 10.1007/s00253-023-12749-0; DOI: 10.1128/spectrum.04846-22); synthetic biology techniques (DOI: 10.1111/1751-7915.14006); genomics techniques (DOI: 10.1371/journal.pgen.1005337; DOI: 10.1093/pcp/pct082), use of confocal microscopy (DOI: 10.1104/PP.19.00224; DOI:10.1073/pnas.1907969117; DOI: 10.1016/j.plantsci.2023.111897); expertise developing advanced molecular biology studies and data analysis (all her scientific publications); design-execution and analysis of experimental trials and efficacy tests on human sample and in-vitro cell-culture. Since 2021, Dr Locascio is member of the panel of Expert Evaluators in the European Program “Horizon Europe Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships”, (HE-MSCA-PF), for LIFE area. Her scientific competence is moreover, recognized by international scientific journals in which she collaborates as Reviewing Editor (Journal of Plant Growth Regulator) and as Reviewer of articles for Life, Frontiers in Plant Science, International Journal of Molecular Science, Journal of Plant Growth Regulator and Plants.
Regarding her academic career, she directed the final graduation and master thesis of more than 15 students; involved in 2 Teaching Projects, directing one of them; being jury member in graduation and PhD thesis defence. ). Since 2020, she is Professor at the UCH-CEU University, in the Department of Health Sciences, teaching subjects as Biology, Microbiology and Virology, Genetics and Biochemistry.
She is also Coordinator of Student’s Mobility (Erasmus) in Medicine Faculty.
Since 2023, she joined the research group of Cellular Aging and Nutrition, headed by the Dr. Eloy Bejarano, transferring her molecular biology know-how and transcriptional study analysis skills to complement the expertise of the group.
