I am a Lecturer in Screen Studies at the University of Salford. My research explores media industry practices, particularly in terms of how they intersect with digital technologies and shape the narrative and genre of media content.

I am co-editor of Storytelling in the Media Convergence Age: Exploring Screen Narratives (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), author of Storytelling Industries: Narrative Production in the 21st Century (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018), and co-author of Transmedia/Genre: Rethinking Genre in a Multiplatform Culture (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023) and Television Goes Back to the Future: Rethinking TV's Streaming Revolution (Palgrave Macmillan, 2025).
