Professor Anthony (Tony) Palmer is a rangeland ecologist and research professor at the Institute for Water Research (IWR) at Rhodes University, South Africa. His work focuses on rangeland health, landscape-scale evapotranspiration, and using remote sensing data to monitor arid and semi-arid ecosystems. He previously worked as a specialist researcher at the Agricultural Research Council (ARC). His research covers global change impacts, soil moisture dynamics, and land management in Southern Africa.
