Anthony (Tony) Martin is a paleontologist and geologist with a research specialty in ichnology, the study of modern and ancient traces caused by animal behavior, such as tracks, trails, burrows, and nests. He has published more than 60 research articles and 100 abstracts, and some of his fossil discoveries – which include the first known burrowing dinosaur and the oldest bird tracks in Australia – have received wide attention in popular media. He is the author of nine books, including "Dinosaurs Without Bones" (2014, Pegasus Books), "The Evolution Underground" (2017, Pegasus Books), "Tracking the Golden Isles" (2020, University of Georgia Press) and "Life Sculpted" (2023, University of Chicago Press). He is a Fellow in the Geological Society of America and The Explorers Club.
