I am an assistant professor of Law and Computer Science at Dalhousie University. I am the principal investigator of Unlocking Healthcare, an academic research project investigating the legal and technical barriers to independent repair and servicing of medical devices in Canadian hospitals (www.unlockinghealthcare.ca)
I am a native of Halifax, Nova Scotia and a graduate of the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University (2015).
I am an intellectual property lawyer by trade, with a keen interest in the Right to Repair and the legal and ethical implications of emerging technologies. I am a co-founder of the Canadian Repair Coalition (www.canrepair.ca) and a frequent commentator on science and technology law & policy that touches upon user innovation, repair, and knowledge diffusion.
I have published peer reviewed articles in academic journals in Europe, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. I am currently completing my PhD in Law at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.
