Annunciata Nunuk Wilson

Annunciata Nunuk Wilson, a Ngan’gikurunggurr woman, is a respected artist and strong community leader. She is the eldest daughter of renowned artist Regina Pilawuk Wilson.

Beyond her artistic talents, Annunciata has dedicated much of her life to serving her community in Peppimenarti. For many years she has worked in the local Council and Thammurr Development Corporation.

Passionate about the well-being of the people in Peppiminarti, she has been a strong advocate for healthy communities and is lobbying for a Safe House. This will provide a secure and safe space for those in need in Peppimenarti. She is also passionate about improving education outcomes for young people, and in particular their preparedness for mainstream school and the ability to take up opportunities that are key to a better future.

Recently, Annunciata attended the UNPFII in New York, bringing global attention to the voices of Indigenous women. She has also worked with Charles Darwin University, as a community-based researcher as part of the West Daly Peace Project.
