Anne Obondo

I am an Associate Professor and a Psychiatric Social Work in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Nairobi. I have extensive experience (44 years) in teaching and research. Through my professional engagements I have gained broad knowledge and practical understanding of mental health systems, community based interventions and the integration of psychosocial approaches in mental health services and research.

As a psychiatric social worker, I strongly believe that mental heath care must address not only psychiatric symptoms but also the broader psychosocial and environmental factors affecting individuals and families and therefore, contributes to comprehensive mental health care.
