Anne Maree Kreller

Research at the Australian Centre for Culture, Environment, Society and Space University of Wollongong and sessional teacher at UNSW. I am an environmental social scientist, having completed my Honours and a PhD in the social sciences, majoring in Human Geography at UNSW. My research area is sea-level rise adaptation, particularly conflicts over planned retreat and seawalls in beach areas.

As an activist-researcher, I am interested in the interrelationships between activists, community organisations, and adaptation planners, and devising novel adaptation planning to address difficult conversations about climate change.

My professional background is federal government, community organising, housing cooperatives, social movements, and renewable energy justice in community and social housing. A recovering actor, I have media experience, and training in public speaking, conflict in engagement, and leadership.
