Prof Annalise Weckesser is a medical and feminist anthropologist, based at Birmingham City University's Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences, researching gendered experiences of reproductive health, sexual health and chronic illness (including endometriosis). She is co-founder and lead coordinator of SEEN- Social SciencEs Endometriosis Network. Recently, Weckesser led a project for Plan International UK’s and Brook’s 'Let’s Talk. Period' initiative, creating a series of evidence-based resources for the menstruation education, health, policy, and advocacy sector (available from: https://plan-uk.org/act-for-girls/lets-talk-period). She's published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals including British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Journal of Paediatric Adolescent Gynecology, Sex Education and Social Science of Medicine.
