- Marie Curie Fellow, University of Oxford
I am an intellectual historian specialising in the late Middle Ages. My research is on the relationship between philosophy and theology, and the transmission of philosophical ideas from the ancient to medieval periods, and from medieval Arabic to Christian areas.
My current project is on controversies which erupted in late medieval Europe in response to theories in Aristotelian philosophy. It looks at how and why medieval theologians and philosophers sometimes called these theories heretical -- even though the ideas weren't heretical. I am carrying out the project as a Marie Curie Fellow in the Faculty of Theology and Religion, University of Oxford. The project is funded by the European Commission (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions/Horizon 2020).
