- Professor of Human Factors, CQUniversity Australia
Anjum Naweed is a Professor in Human Factors, and current Australian Research Council Future Fellow based at the Adelaide campus of CQUniversity. He is a Certified Professional Ergonomist with a background in psychology and over 15 years’ experience across a range of industry sectors and occupational settings. His research interests include complex decision-making and knowledge representation in skilled work, systems thinking, accident prevention, narrative, storytelling, and creative and cultural applications of simulation. More generally, he is interested in understanding the relationship between people and technologies, tools, environments, and systems, and practically translating this across the safety critical domains.
Anjum has co-edited books, written over 175 peer reviewed articles and secured over $7.5 million in research funding. He has received many accolades in recognition of excellence in research activity, publication, and engagement and is twice recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Researcher of the Year. In 2022, Anjum received the Simulation Achievement Award for clear and unambiguous, outstanding contributions to science, technology, and education, and Simulation Australia’s Lifetime Membership Award. He currently serves a Scientific Editor for Applied Ergonomics, an international journal, and has been a Scientific Convenor for the Australasian Simulation Congress on five consecutive occasions, and for the Annual Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia (HFESA) Conference twice.
